Recently, the results of Shanghai Jiao Tong University 2021 Outstanding Doctoral Dissertations were announced. The dissertation "Bryan Richardson's Unnatural Narrative Theory Research" by Li Yafei, a 2017 doctoral student under the guidance of Professor Shang Biwu from the School of Foreign Languages, won the nomination award, which was the only one in Liberal Arts.  In total, 15 won Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation Award and 19 won Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation Nomination Award.
The selection of the university-level outstanding dissertations aims to encourage doctoral students to focus on high-level and innovative scientific research, encourage supervisors to focus on guiding and cultivating talents, and establish an atmosphere and orientation of advocating  academic research and innovation so as to further improve doctoral dissertation quality.
